Meet Ramon:
UCI Law is unique because the school places a significant emphasis on public service and social justice. Its commitment to public interest law is evident through its clinics, pro bono opportunities, and partnerships with advocacy organizations. Students are encouraged to engage with underserved communities and work on legal issues that contribute to the greater good. UCI Law also maintains relatively small class sizes, which fosters a more intimate and interactive learning environment. This allows for closer interaction between students and faculty, promoting personalized attention and mentorship opportunities.

My goal is to pursue a career in Data and Privacy Law. In the digital age, the collection, storage, and utilization of personal data have become ubiquitous. This has raised significant concerns about individuals' privacy rights and the potential misuse of their information. I am passionate about safeguarding individuals' rights in the digital realm and ensuring that legal frameworks address these concerns effectively. Additionally, data and privacy issues have far-reaching implications for society, ranging from personal autonomy and security to economic considerations and democratic values. Being passionate about contributing positively to society, I am drawn to the opportunity to shape and advocate for legal frameworks that balance innovation and individual rights.

Coming from a different cultural background, I understand the importance of privacy and autonomy in a deeply personal way. Many immigrants have experienced the value of privacy in their home countries and have seen how it can be both protected and compromised. This perspective drives my commitment to preserving these values.
