Competitions Overview
Moot Court
Second- and third-year law students have the opportunity to compete in the intra-school UC Irvine Law Moot Court Program, in which students write their briefs in teams of two, but argue as individuals. Additionally, UC Irvine Law sends send teams to national and international competitions.
Jessup Moot Court
Second- and third-year law students have the opportunity to compete in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, the world’s largest moot court competition.
Mock Trial
UC Irvine Law Mock Trial provides an opportunity for students to develop and showcase their oral advocacy skills. The 1L Competition offers first-year UCI Law students the opportunity to participate in a competitive mock trial competition against other first-year UC Irvine Law students. The 2L/3L Competition provides an opportunity for second-year and third-year UC Irvine Law students to compete against each other and gain additional practice and experience.
