E-Scooters, Skate Devices and Pedestrian Safety: Due to an increase in e-scooter accidents at UC Irvine, UCI police officers are enforcing e-scooter and bicycle regulations on campus. Motorized skate and scooter devices are not permitted on the core campus, including around the Law School. The Skate Devices & Electric Scooters Map shows campus locations where these devices are prohibited to use. E-device use is permitted on Pereira Dr. and other roadways in the campus core as long as they follow the California Vehicle Code. 1Ls: Become an Admissions Ambassador: Meet with prospective students to answer questions about what law school is like and your experience in the application process. Whether it's volunteering for a panel, tour, or law fair, your expertise as a current law student can make the difference for a prospective one. Apply by November 15.
2Ls and 3Ls: Advanced Core Clinic: Students who have completed their core clinic and are interested in taking an advance clinic for spring must obtain faculty approval no later than 4 weeks prior to the start of the semester. See Debi Gloria's 10/21 email for details.
1Ls: Lawyering Skills Interview Completion Report Submission: Students completing interviews during fall must submit their Interview Completion Report via Canvas no later than one week after their interview. Refer Naomi Aguilar's 10/23 email for more information.
School of Social Ecology's Dia De Los Muertos: Monday, November 4; Irvine Barclay Theatre; 4:00pm to 8:00pm: This event will engage the local community by partnering with schools and organizations to inspire Latino students through representation, celebration, and fun. Livescan Fingerprint; Wednesday, November 13; 12:00pm to 1:00pm: Livescan fingerprinting is required as part of the Moral Character application. The $26 fee can be paid with cash, card, Venmo/Zelle or Android/Apple Pay.
Basic Needs Center's CalFresh Enrollment Party: Thursday, November 21; 9:00am to 4:00pm; UCI Flagpoles: Submit your CalFresh application and complete your interview all on the same day! Applications are processed within one day, allowing you to access your benefits faster than the usual 30-day processing period. You must set up an appointment to participate. - 1Ls and 2Ls: Wally Davis Scholarship: All materials must be postmarked by November 30.
- 3Ls: Bar Stipend: All materials must be postmarked by March 31 for the July Bar Exam.
Orange County Women Lawyers Association Foundation (OCWLA): OCWLA Student Representative: Help promote opportunities available through OCWLA, volunteer for major events, attend monthly board meetings and more! Student representatives also benefit from various OCLWA resources.
3Ls: Orange County Women Lawyers Association Foundation (OCWLA): Bar Stipend Award: $1,000 will be given to students that best exemplifies the mission OCWLA, as well as a commitment to scholarship, community service, advancement of women or women’s issues, financial need, and to the Orange County community. Apply by Wednesday, November 20.
