1Ls: Elective Information Session: Friday, November 8; 12:00pm to 1:00pm; Zoom: Professors teaching elective courses during the spring semester will provide information about their classes. Zoom login information will be provided soon. Refer to Dean Jones' 10/24 email for details.

1Ls and 2Ls: Law Review Information Session: Tuesday, November 5; 12:15pm to 1:00pm; EDU 1111: Students can apply to join the Law Review by participating in an anonymous "write-on" exam, available January 3 to January 26. This info session will discuss why the Write-On is moving from May to January this year and what it means to be a prospective editor. See Dr. J's 10/29 email from Law Review for more information.

1Ls: Moot Court Competition - Volunteer as a Bailiff: Review the roles and responsibilities to participate. The Moot Court Board will be hosting office hours in the courtyard on Monday, November 4 and Wednesday, November 6 at noon. See Dr. J's 10/31 email from Moot Court Board for details. 

Voter Resources: UCI Associate Graduate Students (AGS) Office provides the following resources:

  • Stop, Zot N' Vote Bus: Saturday and Sunday, November 2 and 3; 10:00am to 3:00pm: Shuttle service dedicated to transporting students to and from the Vote Center and Ballot Drop Box at Lot 5. 
  • Voter Palooza: Tuesday, November 5; 1:00pm to 3:00pm; Student Center Terrace: Free snacks, music, voter resources, and more.
  • General Election Student Voter Guide: Information on everything from how to register to vote to understanding key issues on the ballot.

UCI Student Success Initiatives (SSI): First-Gen Day Celebration: Wednesday, November 6; 11:00am to 1:30pm: Student Center, Pacific Ballroom CD: Celebrate first-gen students, faculty, and staff with music, live performances, a photo booth, a resource fair, and giveaways.

1Ls: ASP 1L Skills Development Workshop SeriesSee Canvas page for all workshops.

E-Scooters, Skate Devices and Pedestrian SafetyDue to an increase in e-scooter accidents at UC Irvine, UCI police officers are enforcing e-scooter and bicycle regulations on campus. Motorized skate and scooter devices are not permitted on the core campus, including around the Law School. The Skate Devices & Electric Scooters Map shows campus locations where these devices are prohibited to use. E-device use is permitted on Pereira Dr. and other roadways in the campus core as long as they follow the California Vehicle Code. Here is a safety video with more information on the rules and safety issues.

1Ls: Become an Admissions Ambassador: Meet with prospective students to answer questions about what law school is like and your experience in the application process. Whether it's volunteering for a panel, tour, or law fair, your expertise as a current law student can make the difference for a prospective one. Apply by November 15.

2Ls and 3Ls: Advanced Core Clinic: Students who have completed their core clinic and are interested in taking an advance clinic for spring must obtain faculty approval no later than 4 weeks prior to the start of the semester. See Debi Gloria's 10/21 email for details. 

1Ls: Lawyering Skills Interview Completion Report Submission: Students completing interviews during fall must submit their Interview Completion Report via Canvas no later than one week after their interview. Refer Naomi Aguilar's 10/23 email for more information.

School of Social Ecology's Dia De Los Muertos: Monday, November 4; Irvine Barclay Theatre; 4:00pm to 8:00pm: This event will engage the local community by partnering with schools and organizations to inspire Latino students through representation, celebration, and fun. Enjoy Mariachi Divas, face painting, dancing, and more! RSVP here.

Livescan Fingerprint; Wednesday, November 13; 12:00pm to 1:00pm: Livescan fingerprinting is required as part of the Moral Character application. The $26 fee can be paid with cash, card, Venmo/Zelle or Android/Apple Pay.

Basic Needs Center's CalFresh Enrollment Party: Thursday, November 21; 9:00am to 4:00pm; UCI Flagpoles: Submit your CalFresh application and complete your interview all on the same day! Applications are processed within one day, allowing you to access your benefits faster than the usual 30-day processing period. You must set up an appointment to participate. See CalFresh's benefits and eligibility for more details.

Volunteers Needed for the 47th Annual Mock Trial Competition: November 4 through November 19, Stanley Mosk Courthouse, LA: Work alongside with experienced attorneys and judges. Learn more and apply today.

Orange County Hispanic Bar Association (HBA): The following scholarships are open for students of Latino origin who are involved in the Latino community, particularly students with significant ties to Orange County.

  • 1Ls and 2Ls: Wally Davis ScholarshipAll materials must be postmarked by November 30.
  • 3Ls: Bar Stipend: All materials must be postmarked by March 31 for the July Bar Exam.

Orange County Women Lawyers Association Foundation (OCWLA)OCWLA Student RepresentativeHelp promote opportunities available through OCWLA, volunteer for major events, attend monthly board meetings and more! Student representatives also benefit from various OCLWA resources.

3Ls: Orange County Women Lawyers Association Foundation (OCWLA)Bar Stipend Award: $1,000 will be given to students that best exemplifies the mission OCWLA, as well as a commitment to scholarship, community service, advancement of women or women’s issues, financial need, and to the Orange County community. Apply by Wednesday, November 20.
