New Announcements and Deadlines

2Ls: Planning Your 3L Year: March 27, 12 – 1pm in EDU 111. ASP will provide (1) an overview of the bar exam and (2) guidance on 3L course planning with an eye toward bar prep.  RSVP here by Monday, March 24 at 11:59 pm. Pizza will be provided.

3Ls: Registration for the July 2025 California bar exams opens in the Applicant Portal Thursday, March 27 at midnight.

Institute for Justice Annual Law Student Conference: May 30-June 1, Arlington, VA. This year the conference will focus on the constitutional right to just compensation when the government intentionally destroys or commandeers private proper under its police powers. Read more and apply to attend here by April 18. Capacity is limited. Travel and lodging reimbursements are available for students who are not local.

Center for Equal Opportunity (CEO): Summer Civil Rights Fellowship: Washington, D.C., Tuesday, August 5 through Saturday, August 9: Participants will receive instruction in seminar-style sessions led by law and policy experts, litigators, and former and current government officials on a range of civil rights topics. Fellows will receive a $500 stipend, lodging, and meals. Travel expenses will be reimbursed. Apply by April 15.

The First Generation Professionals (FGP) Professional Clothing Drive:  They are looking for blazers, blouses, slacks, button-up collared shirts, ties, shoes, belts dresses, and skirts.  Any clothing that is not claimed by a law student at the end of the drive will be donated to the UCI Basic Needs Center. Drop off and/or pick up gently used professional clothing from 10am-4pm in EDU 1016 from April 14 to April 18.

1Ls: Annual Bay Area Diversity Career Fair (BADCF): BADCF will be held virtually on July 10th (virtual panel) and July 11th (virtual interviews) for students to engage with leading law firms, corporate in-house legal departments, government agencies, nonprofit and other private/public legal employers. Student registration and bidding opens Monday, April 4.  Register and finish bidding by Friday, May 30th!

Law School Survey of Student Engagement (LSSSE): National Study on Legal Education: Let your voice be heard! Refer to the 2/18 email from LSSSE for more details and to access the survey. 

3Ls: Federal Student Loan Exit Counseling: All students who take out federal student loans must complete Federal Student Loan exit counseling before graduation. See 2/12 email from Nasreen Zia for more details. Exit counseling must be completed by Thursday, May 8, 2025.

Civil Rights Litigation Clinic Presents Trans Rights Teach-In on Tuesday, March 25 @ 12:15pm in MPAA 430: RSVP here.  Join UCI Law’s Civil Rights Litigation Clinic to learn about and discuss the current state of trans rights and the law. Panelists from academia and nonprofit civil rights organizations will discuss the changing legal landscape at the local, state, and federal level, their work and research in this area, and how law students can be zealous advocates on behalf of trans rights. Panelists will speak in conversation with each other, followed by a pre-submitted and live audience Q&A session. Pizza will be provided.

Summer Associate Hub 2L Job Fair in NYC on Friday, May 30; New York, NY:  1Ls seeking 2026 2L summer associate positions in NYC should pre-register (using this form) to attend this job fair when the pre-registration opens this Monday, March 10 at 2pm PT (pre-registration does not guarantee a spot, but is the best way to secure a spot, which will be handled on a first-come, first-serve basis per school)

Know Your Rights.  Please refer to the information in this Know Your Rights guide provided by UCOP for immigrant legal services. Copies have been posted on the student bulletin boards within the Law School and pocket/wallet-sized cards are available for pick-up in the Student Affairs and Student Services Suite (MPAA 210).  The suite also has red cards available from the Immigrant Legal Resource Center.
