Meet Adelaide:
Born in the Philippines and raised in the U.S., I am a first-generation Filipina who watched my parents pack up what little we had to start over in a new country—an experience that shaped my worldview and fueled my passion for law. Knowing my roots and understanding what it took to come this far is what drives me to succeed and, ultimately, to pay it forward by serving the communities I belong to.
Before law school, I earned my B.A. in Political Science from UC Riverside, where my interest in justice and policy deepened as I spent most of my time interning for Filipino grassroot organizations in the Inland Empire.
Now a 1L student at UC Irvine Law, I chose this path with a clear mission: to give back to my community and advocate for those navigating systemic barriers. UC Irvine Law, particularly its renowned pro bono program, stood out to me because service isn’t just a commitment—it’s a core part of who I am. UC Irvine Law provides an environment that fosters this passion, allowing me to grow as both a future lawyer and an advocate. I was eager to immerse myself in hands-on opportunities early on, allowing me to develop practical legal skills while making a meaningful impact.
As I navigate my legal education, my goal remains clear: to use my experiences, education, and passion to uplift others. This is why I am especially excited to serve as an Admissions Ambassador. By sharing my experiences, I hope to make the process more accessible and foster a sense of community for those coming after me.
Beyond law, I find joy in capturing moments through my point-and-shoot film camera, exploring new food spots, and attending concerts. I also love thrifting and collecting vinyl records!
