Immigrant Rights Clinic contributes to passage of bill to overhaul state gang affiliation database
The UCI Law Immigrant Rights Clinic worked with a coalition of advocates on A.B. 2298, a bill signed by Gov. Brown to overhaul California’s gang affiliation database. Sean Garcia-Leyes (UCI Law ’16) helped draft language for the bill and was the prime author of a Clinic report on the issues.
Garcia-Leyes is now on staff at the Urban Peace Initiative in Los Angeles with a UCI Law post-graduate fellowship.
