UCI Law Chancellor’s Professor of Law and Political Science Rick Hasen Casebook Quoted by U.S. Supreme Court
Richard L. Hasen’s (Rick Hasen), Chancellor’s Professor of Law and Political Science at the University of California, Irvine School of Law (UCI Law) casebook, “Modern American Remedies: Cases and Materials, Fifth Edition” was quoted by the Supreme Court of the United States in Uzuegbunam v. Preczewski.
The casebook co-authored by Prof. Hasen and Douglas Laycock, was cited by the Supreme Court and by the Chief Justice in dissent.
Uzuegbunam v. Preczewski is a decision by the Supreme Court dealing with nominal damages to be awarded to individuals whose right to freedom of speech has been suppressed by an entity but subsequently rendered moot due to intervening circumstances.
