Supervising Attorneys
The success of UC Irvine Law’s Externship Program would not be possible without the dedication and commitment of our site supervisors. Supervising attorneys help students acquire practical lawyering skills, develop their sense of professionalism and professional identity, and learn through hands-on application and constructive feedback.
Current Site Supervisors
UCI Law is a proud member of SoCalEx, an association of externship faculty from law schools in Los Angeles and Orange County. SoCalEx has developed joint standards for the field supervision of externs by field supervisors, judicial clerks, and research attorneys, published in our manual available here. Host organizations and supervisors are encouraged to review the manual each semester.
In addition to the manual, SoCalEx hosts events throughout the year to assist our partners in making the most of the externship experience. Details on our next event will be posted here as they become available.
