About the Institute
The UC Irvine Cybersecurity Policy & Research Institute (CPRI) is a unique, multidisciplinary effort, bringing together academia, a broad range of critical infrastructure businesses, law enforcement and other government agencies and the privacy and civil liberties community in a unified effort to combat cyber threats.
Individuals, corporations, governments and other institutions face unprecedented vulnerabilities in a world where everything is increasingly connected. High-profile breaches in both the public and private sectors, including against financial and healthcare institutions, companies like Yahoo and Sony Pictures and even our election process itself, underscore the magnitude of this epidemic.
Pulling together more than 80 participants from academia, critical infrastructure businesses, government and the privacy and civil liberties community, CPRI is generating comprehensive technical and policy-driven strategies to address cybersecurity’s technical, legal, policy and human challenges.
