Ahmed Abdelmaged – Egypt
Mr. Ahmed Abdelmaged earned his Bachelor degree in law at the University of Tanta, Egypt in 2007. His past experience includes working with nonprofit organizations and defending human rights in Egypt. He wishes to continue his work in human rights here in the United States.

Majdh Almalki – Saudi Arabia
Ms. Almalki completed her Bachelor of Law degree with honors from King Abdulaziz University in 2019. After completing her degree she was honored with a full scholarship by her country’s Ministry of Education to earn her Master's degree. Ms. Almalki plans to bring the knowledge gained from her LL.M studies at UCI back to Saudi Arabia to help facilitate positive changes for Saudi women in their continued struggle for equality in all aspects of life and society.

Rakan Alhussain – Saudi Arabia
Mr. Alhussain received a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of law from King Saud University in 2017. He most recently worked as a legal researcher at the Bureau of Experts at the Council of Ministers. Previously, he worked as a legal researcher for the Royal Court making presentations for the King and drafting Royal Decrees and Orders.

Claire Anderson – U.K./U.S.
Mrs. Anderson graduated with a Bachelors of Law degree with Honors having written her thesis analyzing the socio-legal conclusions of same-sex couples and single parent rights to artificial reproduction, before going on to complete her legal education at the Northumbria School of Law, U.K. There, her law clinic team was awarded with the Queen’s Anniversary Prize, held as the highest form of national recognition for work of outstanding excellence and positive impact. Mrs. Anderson has since immigrated to the United States and worked in warranty & commercial litigation for two of the top Fortune 500 automotive manufacturers. Mrs. Anderson intends to use her LLM to continue in pursuit of her passion for litigation.

Dovran Annaseidov – Turkmenistan/U.S.
Mr. Annaseidov received his Bachelor of Laws from Marmara University in 2017 and Master of Laws studies at Istanbul University from 2017-2019. His academic interest focused on fields such as International Law, Comparative Law, and International Commercial Law. During his master’s studies, he published a research article concentrated on The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) regulations. Mr. Annaseidov is intrigued with History. He speaks Turkmen, Russian, Turkish, and English.

Mohammad Fawad Barikzai – Afghanistan/U.S.
Mohammad Fawad Barikzai is from Kabul Afghanistan and completed his legal education in Afghanistan in 2014. Mr. Barikzai is a Muslim, a husband, and father to four children (two boys and two girls). Mr. Barikzai has fourteen years of experience as a manager for the U.S. Armed Forces where he received many letters of appreciation and service medals from high ranking two-star Generals for outstanding service. He and his family moved to the U.S. in 2017 where he continued his education by completing a degree in political science and administration.

Jianing Chi – China
Jianing “Shawn” Chi pursued his master’s degree at China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) after practicing as a lawyer at the Beijing HanKun Law Office intellectual property firm. Mr. Chi has a passion for intellectual property with a focus on trademarks and patents. He is looking forward to studying at UCI Law to deepen his understanding of intellectual property law and to broaden his insight into global legal practice.

Soojin Huh – South Korea
Ms. Huh received her Bachelor of Law degree from Ewha Woman’s University in Seoul, Korea in 2010. In 2012, she was appointed as Public Prosecutor for the Republic of Korea. Since then, Soojin has specialized as a trial prosecutor carrying various cases such as sexual aggression crimes, murder crimes and bribery cases. She is a native Korean speaker who is also fluent in English.

Dong Kwan Kim – South Korea
Mr. Kim received his LL.B degree from Korea Maritime and Ocean University in 2020. He studied Maritime law, International law and Korean Law while also participating in mock trial and serving as Director of the Welfare Department on the Student Council. After graduation, he worked in a construction firm in Korea and assisted civil execution of jobs and civil compulsory duties. Mr. Kim also researched the Labor Standards Act and the Minimum Wage Act with other lawyers. In mandatory military service, he served as a sergeant in the Republic of Korea Army. Through the LL.M program at UCI law, he hopes to study commercial law and international law to vitalize the trade between the U.S and Asia and plans to sit for the CA bar exam.

Xijing Maio – China
Ms. Miao pursued her master’s degree at Beijing Jiaotong University after earning a bachelor's degree in Law from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications in 2019. She interned with many courts and law firms during her educational career and most recently worked with a firm specializing in artificial intelligence. She joined the UCI Law LL.M. program through an institutional partnership Beijing Jiaotong University and she looks forward to gaining more legal knowledge and skill.

Nadya Osipova – Russia/U.S.
Ms. Osipova received her Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Moscow University of Finance and Law in 2008. She emigrated from Russia to the United States four years ago, recently graduating with a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program at Cerritos College. During her study, she received several awards and recognitions including the Hugh Wilkoff Memorial Paralegal Scholarship and the Southeast District Bar Association Scholarship. Most recently, she worked at an immigration law firm on detention and deportation defense matters. Ms. Osipova would like to extend her knowledge in legal studies and become an attorney in California upon completion of the LL.M. Program at UCI Law and passing the Bar Exam.

Eunsol Park – South Korea
Ms. Park has served as Deputy Director of Korean government since 2014. She earned her bachelor's degree and master's degree at Seoul National University. While working in the Ministry of Science and ICT, she has participated several trade agreement negotiations and reformed Korea's tech laws to comply with international law. After joining the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, she has handled a wide range of digital trade matters and engaged in WTO negotiations as well. She hopes to take her time at UCI Law to deepen her understanding of U.S. laws and regulations so that she can provide a higher level of service after returning to her position in Korea.

Busra Sahin – Turkey, U.S.
Ms. Sahin received her Bachelor of Law from Gediz University in 2014. She was admitted to the Turkish Bar Association in 2016 after completing her internship. Since graduating, she worked on Criminal Law, Business Law, and Enforcement Law. Her work experience includes conducting research, drafting contracts, writing legal advice and petitions, and defending her clients in a courtroom. After arriving in the US in 2018, she started volunteering in different NGOs which are the United Nations Association, Amnesty International, and Advocates of Silenced Turkey. She aims to study the American legal system to extend her knowledge from French base Civil Law to British base Common Law. She is a native Turkish speaker and fluent in English.

Injun Yang – South Korea
Mr. Yang is a Professor of Law at the Graduate School of Science in Taxation and Law School at University of Seoul. He obtained his LL.B. degree from Seoul National University (SNU) College of Law and LL.M. and Ph.D in Law from SNU Graduate School. He served as a Senior Judicial Researcher (Senior Specialist Research Clerk) for Supreme Court Justices in the area of taxation contributing to appropriate interpretations of tax laws and rules as well as establishing case laws from 03/2018 to 08/2020.

Fares Alkhudhair – Saudi Arabia
Mr. Alkhudhair graduated with a Bachelor of Law degree from King Saud University in 2017. He has previously worked as a legal researcher for the Saudi Telecom Company. Most recently, He served as a legal researcher at the Ministry of Commerce in Riyadh. He speaks Arabic and English. -
Jiwon Cheon – South Korea
Jiwon Cheon received her Bachelor of Laws degree from Fudan University in China in 2019. At Fudan University, Ms. Cheon’s research focused on comparative studies of Chinese and Korean law. While earning her degree, Ms. Cheon completed legal internships and participated in service organizations including the Korean Community SOS Solution, a project dedicated to providing legal services, community education, and advocacy for Korean students. Ms. Cheon’s interests include international law and human rights law. She speaks Korean, Mandarin, and English. -
Kyunhae Kim – South Korea
Kyunhae Kim is a lawyer at Lee & Ko in South Korea. Prior to successfully passing the Korean bar examination and joining Lee & Ko in 2014, Mr. Kim served as a law enforcement officer at the National Police Agency in Korea. Expanding upon his extensive experience in law enforcement, Mr. Kim has built his expertise primarily on white-collar criminal matters, specifically corporate embezzlement, corporate misconduct and anti-corruption/regulatory compliance as well as trade secret law. Mr. Kim also boasts a reliable track record in advising clients on a wide array of complex corporate criminal litigation. -
Lihua Ouyang – China
Lihua Ouyang received her Master of Laws degree from Shenzhen University in 2019 after earning her Bachelor of Law degree from Gannan Normal University in 2016. She interned with several courts and law firms during her educational career. She hopes her time in the Master of Laws (LL.M.) program at UCI will deepen her knowledge of the legal system and practice of law and further enhance her skills. After completing her LL.M., Ms. Ouyang plans to return to China to continue her career. -
Disha Shenoy – India, U.S.
Disha Shenoy received her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree in 2017 from the University of Mumbai and is also an Associate Member of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) since 2016. She practiced corporate law and compliance for over three years in India. Her most recent profile was associated with BSE Limited (Bombay Stock Exchange), Asia’s First and world’s 10th largest stock exchange wherein she gained extensive exposure in Securities laws and Mergers and Acquisitions. Her work experience also includes legal research and writing, drafting contracts, petitions and representing clients before regulatory authorities. Ms. Shenoy strongly believes that pursuing Master of Laws (LL.M.) at UCI would help enrich her academic and professional capabilities. She is determined to pursue her passion for corporate law and achieve her goal of becoming an international corporate attorney. -
Xiu Yin – China
Xiu Yin completed his Bachelor of Engineering degree and Honours Bachelor of Law degree from Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NUST) in 2019. While studying at NUST, he participated in several patent-related competitions for which he received academic awards. Mr. Yin is interested in intellectual property law, especially in the fields of patent and trademark. At UCI Law, he hopes to deepen his understanding of American intellectual property law in order to provide better legal services in China. He enjoys photography. -
Zhilin Zhang – China
Zhilin Zhang received his Bachelor of International Politics degree from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in 2019 and pursued his Master of Law degree at Central South University. Mr. Zhang has interned both in the Chinese courts and at King & Wood Mallesons, a multinational law firm. Mr. Zhang is interested in international law and bankruptcy law. He hopes that his experience in the Master of Laws program at UCI will deepen his understanding of the Chinese and American legal systems.
