Enrollment Checklist
Welcome, new Anteaters! To help make your transition into UC Irvine Law as seamless as possible, we have created a list of important tasks to be completed prior to your arrival. Please make sure to check your spam/junk folders for responses. We recommend adding "admissions@law.uci.edu" as a safe sender to ensure you receive all our communications.
New enrollment tasks will be added to this checklist periodically. While we will notify you when a new task has been added, we encourage you to check this list regularly.
Required
All students must complete these steps prior to Orientation. Please pay extra attention to these requirements and adhere to all deadlines.
To finalize your seat in the class, you must submit your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) and a total of two deposits. Both deposits submitted to UC Irvine Law are non-refundable from the moment they are submitted. Total deposits will be applied to your Fall 2025 Zot Account in August when fees are assessed. Note: The SIR Deposit must be paid at least 48 hours prior to the Housing Deadline, regardless of the provided SIR Deposit deadline.
Deadlines:
- January 15, 2025: Binding Early Decision SIR and supplemental non-refundable SIR Deposit for applicants deferred from Fall 2024.
- April 15, 2025: Regular Decision SIR and non-refundable first seat deposit will begin to be due (this will become rolling for later admits; refer to the dates provided with your admission).
- April 15, 2025: Early Decision non-refundable second seat deposit due.
- June 1, 2025: Regular Decision non-refundable second seat deposit due.
All UC Irvine Law students must activate their UCInetID. Your UCInetID is your Single Sign-on (SSO) and electronic identification used for many online services at the University of California, Irvine, such as ZotPortal, and UC Irvine Webmail. It is for your individual use only and you should not share your password with anyone else. For current UC Irvine undergraduate students your UCInetID should already active.
Deadline: As soon as possible.
Contact: Any questions regarding you UCInetID can be directed to the UC Irvine Office of Information Technology.
All new students who have submitted their SIR must also complete the Statement of Legal Residence (SLR). The University of California determines residency based on information you provide on the SLR.
Deadline: July 18, 2025.
Contact: Information about residency can be found through the UC Irvine Registrar.
Please refer to the Financing Your Legal Education section of the Admitted Student website for all tasks and information related to tuition and financial aid, including, but not limited to, accepting your UC Irvine Law Scholarship, applying for loans, and financing your tuition bill.
Deadline: As soon as possible. Please refer to the Financial Checklist for specific deadlines.
Contact: Questions can be directed to Student Financial Services at finaid@law.uci.edu.
The University requires students to either receive or affirmatively decline a COVID-19 vaccination each year. All employee related information is located on the Human Resources Working Well webpage and student-related information is located on the Student Health Center webpage. UC Irvine Digest issues regarding COVID-19 are archived on the Strategic Communications website.
Deadline: As soon as possible.
If Applicable
Some enrollment tasks may not apply to all students. If they do, please review the information carefully, follow instructions, and adhere to all deadlines.
Students who experience all types of disabilities are eligible for support services. UC Irvine’s Disability Services Center (DSC) provides a variety of services and accommodations. If you will be requesting accommodations while at UC Irvine Law, please begin the process over the summer so that we can provide you with the proper accommodations from the very beginning of the school year.
To request services or accommodations for the upcoming academic year, you must register with the Disability Services Center. To begin this process, please visit their website (https://dsc.uci.edu/register/) and click on “incoming graduate students” to fill out the online intake form. You must have your UCInetID and provide documentation verifying your disability. Detailed information about necessary documentation can be found on DSC’s website. After you submit the intake form, a DSC staff member will contact you within 5 business days to make an appointment with the Law School Disability Counselor.
Deadline: As soon as possible.
Contact: If you have any questions, please contact the DSC at dsc@uci.edu or 949-824-7494. You may also contact Dean Kyle Jones.
International Students
In addition to the tasks above, international students should familiarize themselves with these next steps.
The UC Irvine International Center provides expert immigration services, including SEVIS compliance, visa documentation, and related advising.
Students who are not U.S. Citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents, or have a visa status that allows them to study in the U.S., must request a visa document from the UC Irvine International Center before they begin their studies.
The SEVIS fee is paid by F-1 students to cover the cost for the operation of SEVIS. This is a government fee that is paid directly to the U.S. government through the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP). The fee is not a UC Irvine fee.
Once you have paid your SEVIS fee, you can contact the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate to schedule an appointment for an F-1 or J-1 student visa. USA.gov is a good source for finding a U.S. Embassy or Consulate. The consular officer will determine whether you qualify for the visa. If the visa is issued, you may need to pay an additional visa issuance reciprocity fee.
